Funded by the European Union Visitors Program (EUVP), Prof. Zhu Guichang, of Center for European Studies, Shandong University, went to EU’s headquarter in Brussels for a study visit on June 11, 2019. During this time he interviewed with officials of the European Commission, the European Commission of the Regions, the European Economic and Social Committee and other institutions, as well as with the European Commission's Political Center for Strategy, European Parliament Research Service, Royal Institute of International Relations of Belgium, European Union Centre for Asian Studies. Through visits to EU institutions and close encounters with EU officials, they have had a positive feeling on the day-to-day functioning and get to know main functions of the EU's institutions, and have become more visible to the EU’s political elites’ view on China and China-EU relations, and to form a deeper understanding of views and a deeper reflection on the future development of China-EU relations. The EU Visitors Program was set up to deepen the knowledge and understanding of the EU by inviting participants to study in EU institutions and holding other study activities to expand the international influence of the EU.
